From the Facebook, for prosperity the records:

10 Albums Challenge Day 5… supposed to be “… an album cover that greatly influenced your taste in music. No explanations, no reviews …” But … words:

After SRV’s passing, the torch was passed to Austin guitar god Doyle Bramhall. I have all of Doyle’s records and can’t recommend enough (start with Jellycream, produced masterfully by Froom and Blake). Anyway, for this Arc Angles project, his first big project, he’s playing alongside ANOTHER Austin guitar god in Charlie Sexton (seriously, check out Under the Wishing Tree already). Mind blown. These two dudes. Jesus Christ. AND the rhythm section is Double Trouble, Chris Whooper Layton and Tommon Shannon, Stevie Ray’s band! As soon as I got my hands on this CD it was on CONSTANTLY. It might be embarrassing how many times I’ve listened to this record man, but … blues rock guitar god record? Yes please. More please.

Another Duane story but … we went and saw Arc Angles live in a small club in Montreal. My sister Suzanne came along, she had a MAD crush on Doyle. Anyway, after the show, we’re hanging around because I wanted so desperately to connect to the band. I get a quick hello and a hand shake amongst the throng of guitar wannabe’s like myself. On the way out the back door who do they see and have a hug out with? Fucking Duane Murray. Why? He’s just cool, hanging out, not wanting to crowd anyone, not desperate or needy, just cool. Try to imagine this record on Duane’s list!!!???? They always advise you to never meet your gods, they’ll only disappoint … not because of them, I think, but because you just can’t think straight, you can’t get the words out … or at least I can’t.
